Description

Hi!

This is a simple, straightforward mini-research project for upper-level elementary students. I found most 100th day of school activities were geared toward younger learners. This activity provides a framework (and an opportunity for class discussion) to discuss minimum wage, the value of a dollar, and how far 100 dollars will get you in terms of what students typically want to buy. Students research the prices of products they would like to buy and use decimal addition and money sense to come up with a list. Frameworks are provided to make the assignment more meaningful and thought-provoking - essentially, measures are taken to prevent kids rushing through it or picking silly answers. :)
