I created these posters to display the 16 Career Clusters AND the pathways for each. I have color-coordinated them and also created logos for each cluster. Included in this file:
- 16 Career posters in 8x11 printable size, JPG format
- 16 1" badge magnet artwork
- 60 2" badge magnet careers
- 16 Career icons in JPG format
*For items 2 and 3 you will need a badge machine to make them into badges, though you could easily cut them out of cardstock and add a magnet on the back if you do not have access to a machine.
These posters can be used as simple posters in your classroom to reiterate them with your students. But I also use them more interactively in my class. On the back I print a picture that depicts each of the clusters (not included due to copyright, but it's easy to find pictures on Google for this.) When my students come in they are all on the picture side. The students then are asked to write their names underneath the picture that is most like them. Then, one at a time I introduce the clusters--flipping the poster over to show the Cluster name, and mentioning each of the pathways quickly. The kids can then move their name now that they know them better. Next, the kids get the 2" magnets. There are 60 so most kids can have two. They place the magnets they got underneath the cluster they think it belongs to. Then as a class we go through each one and see how many they got correct. A key for that is included, though some careers could easily belong in more than one cluster. It's a fun first day activity for a career exploration class!
