Description

3-D Recycled Art Sculpture Lesson! Cardboard & Paint! Middle School & High School!

⭐Looking for a new and easy Middle school or high school sculpture lesson for your 3-D Art Unit?! Try this student-tested art lesson (8th graders loved it!) inspired by the art of Kimmy Cantrell!

⭐This product includes plenty of design resources to easily guide your students through the Design Process.

  • This product will help you to easily introduce your students to the Abstract mask-style faces created by the contemporary artist Kimmy Cantrell. Students also will experiment with assemblage methods to express their ideas as well as try an abstract approach to creating a face.
  • Drawing, cutting, and painting skills all are utilized as students have many opportunities to consider aesthetic choices and revisions to create their final sculpture.
  • To complete the sculpture, students enjoy the challenge of a bit of critical thinking, problem-solving, and physics to create a display stand that supports the sculpture to stand upright!
  • This concept-rich, open-ended art lesson will work great in a traditional art room setting, but also includes a variation to make it work as a Distance Learning project option too!

This 20-page PDF Product Includes:

-Step-by-Step lesson Plan for a Traditional Art room setting with a Summarized Handout for Absent students or Substitute Teachers!

-Step-by-Step lesson Plan for an At-Home, Distance Learning situation with a Summarized Handout for students and parents!

-5 Printable Resource Inspiration Sheets to support students as they work through the Design Phase of the lesson.

-Teacher and student-made color examples

-2 printable worksheets for students to research and gather abstract feature ideas and to create a final sketch for their final sculpture project.
