These activities were excellent practice for my 3rd graders during our geometry unit. My students were engaged as they completed these activities during math rotations.

About the Printable 3rd Grade Geometry Math Centers

*There are multiple activities per standard to allow you to vary your geometry practice or pick and choose the activities that work best for your students.

*Each center is available in black and white only, to save ink. I printed these centers in colored card stock to add some color.

*Each center includes a teacher notes page with a picture of the center, a student directions page, the center cards or pieces, recording sheets, and answer keys when applicable. The nature of some of the centers don’t allow for answer keys.

*The only manipulatives needed for this center are dice and a paperclip to create a spinner and game tokens for the game activity.

*Check out the preview to see the table of contents and all of the geometry activities included in this resource.

Here are the names/skills for the printable 3rd grade geometry math centers:

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
