4th Grade Reading TEST PREP Interactive Stations

Make 4th Grade Language Arts OST practice test prep FUN and INTERACTIVE with this set of 4 station activities designed for engaging and focused test preparation!

Instead of the traditional test prep activity of reading a story and answering questions, students will rotate through 4 different stations featuring 7 different hands on activities based upon a story they will read together. I took the key components from current OST testing samples and developed strategies and practice opportunities for each one of the stations.

What's included?

*Students will learn to “HUG” questions to identify key words and phrases in evidence based questions pulled from test aligned stories during one activity.

*For another station, students will interact with 10 key terms that appear frequently on tests by using a “stack it up” vocabulary activity and a fun BUMP game.

*When rotating to a third station, students will have to closely read the article and pull relevant evidence from the passage to support or refute a given statement from the story as well as determining how to effectively use context clues to find the meaning of unknown vocabulary words.

*Finally, in the fourth station, students will use a simple strategy to identify characteristics of strong paragraph writing examples by analyzing samples of several multi paragraph essays in a fun, round robin manner.

My students LOVE these stations and I love the amount of QUALITY test preparation I can engage them with in this fun and interactive manner.
