1. 5 Strands of Social Studies All About Me Activity:

• 6 versions of the 5 Strands of Social Studies All About Me template:
  
• One boy and one girl template with guiding questions to assist learners with connecting information about themselves to the 5 strands
  
• One boy and one girl template without guiding questions, allowing the information they include to be a little more open ended
  
• A blank body template (so that you don’t have to copy boy and girl templates); with and without the guiding questions

2. 5 Strands of Social Studies Bulletin Board Display Posters + Activity

• A display header that spells out “5 Strands of Social Studies”
  
• 3 options of globes to go in the middle of the display
  -I personally will add string or tape going from the globe in the center out to the 5 strands
  
• 5 posters for each strand (history, geography, government, economy, culture).
  -They each include the definition of the strand as well as pictures to help your students visualize and make connections to the real world.
  
• A short response writing to be added to your display.
  -This would be great for BEFORE teaching to have students consider what they already know about social studies from their prior grade level, or AFTER learning about the 5 strands as an exit ticket!
  -There are 2 options of the prompt: a globe, or small, rectangle ticket.

• Students will read the information, picture, or title of various informational texts and determine which of the Five Strands of Social Studies they connect to!

  -the half size pages are great for gluing into student notebooks or printing for table bins
