What educators are saying

This is a great review, and study aid. Students enjoy seeing this come together as the year progresses, and they use it as a reference regularly.
These math interactive notebook activities are a perfect addition to my curriculum. It is a well thought out, organized, and creative resource. This made my job so much easier thank you!

Description

This product is a complete interactive notebook set to teach 6th grade math. From the beginning table of contents to the end glossary, everything is included that you will need throughout the school year. The notebook set is completely aligned to 6th grade math Common Core State Standards. Every page is matched to a specific standard and contains the standard and an β€œI can” statement on the title piece.

See the product preview for the complete table of contents of what is included in the set and also various pictures of completed pages.

The set goes through each of the 5 CCSS domains for 6th grade mathematics: number system, expressions & equations, geometry, ratios & proportions and statistics & probability. Pages can easily be rearranged to fit the order in which you teach the standards. I have used interactive notebooks in my own classroom for 4 years so this set has been a long time in the making and is student approved!

Each notebook page includes: glossary words that are aligned to that notebook page, materials required, assembly instructions and lots of pictures so you can see what the final page looks like both inside and out.

What makes this interactive notebook set unique?
1. The glossary is awesome! At the beginning of the year set-up a glossary at the back of the notebook. Every time you come across a new vocabulary word you will have the notes already in the notebook to explore that word. My students’ academic vocabulary has skyrocketed since implementing the interactive glossary. See all the great reviews on the interactive glossary here.
2. It is 100% aligned to CCSS. Standards are listed on each page so you and your students know exactly what standard you are learning on a certain day.
3. The set has everything you need to create a comprehensive interactive notebook for 6th grade math. No more buying random pages here and there. From beginning to end, you can complete your entire notebook using this set.
4. The set has a uniform design throughout. Every page has similar design aspects that make it not only aesthetically appealing, but also easier to assemble.

Please remember that this purchase is for your personal use in your classroom only. If additional teachers are using this product, they will need to purchase an additional license.

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism. Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 𝘸 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 𝘩 to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Recognize a statistical question as one that anticipates variability in the data related to the question and accounts for it in the answers. For example, β€œHow old am I?” is not a statistical question, but β€œHow old are the students in my school?” is a statistical question because one anticipates variability in students’ ages.
