What educators are saying

These are a great way to start off class! They cover many topics that need to be reinforced throughout the year.
I am using these to do a morning spiral review of topics so the old knowledge stays fresh and these are working very well. The first day I usually let them use their chromebooks to research the vocabulary and then the other days we answer and discuss the daily activities.

Learning Objective

Students will be able to practice the grade 6 CCSS.

Description

These 120 daily math warm-ups can be used as bell work to immediately engage your students. They are designed to be used as spiral review bell ringers throughout the year! However, eight additional ideas for use have been included.

These warm-ups/bell ringers allow you to reinforce each of the 6th Grade Math Common Core State Standards throughout the year and refresh your student's memory by continually spiraling the content.

What is included?

Printable PDF (120 Warm-Ups)

  • 16 spiral review bell ringers to review 5th grade concepts
  • 104 directly aligned to each 6th grade CCSS
  • Warm-ups are formatted to fit two per page for minimal paper usage.

Presentation (PowerPoint and Google Slides)

If you are trying to cut down on copies or prefer for students to work in journals, a visually appealing presentation is available in both PowerPoint and Google Slides formats.

Teacher Key and Instructions

A teacher guide with both an easy-to-read printable answer key and ideas for implementation have been included to support you in your classroom. Additionally, because of the design of the resource, you are not limited by the order. Feel free to pick and choose the topics necessary for your students.

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism. Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 𝘸 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 𝘩 to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Recognize a statistical question as one that anticipates variability in the data related to the question and accounts for it in the answers. For example, β€œHow old am I?” is not a statistical question, but β€œHow old are the students in my school?” is a statistical question because one anticipates variability in students’ ages.
