Description

Do you dread creating choreography, especially for Christmas music? I have created videos of simple choreography to seven popular Christmas songs and carols. Use these moves for caroling around town or in your school. All the moves are small and simple, and they only use hand motions, so you can use these moves on the risers for a quick program, too. These moves are great for Pre-K up to 4th grade, depending on your students. Once you have these videos, you can use them for your sub to learn the moves in a snap! *I included the videos in two different orientations, so if one set of the videos is sideways, please open the "rotated" version.

Songs included are: “Feliz Navidad,” “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph,” “Silent Night,” “Two Front Teeth,” “Up on the Housetop,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” For each song, I have created a short video to show you the choreography.

Please note: there is no music included due to copyright laws. In the videos, I have spoken the lyrics in rhythm while doing the moves. I used my iPhone to create the videos, so they are a teacher resource only and would not be enjoyable to show the kids. The videos are each a QuickTime Movie (.MOV) file.

I use recordings from my Macmillan/McGraw-Hill texts and YouTube.

Other details you may want to know:
1. “Feliz Navidad” – this song only has two sections in the original, and my choreography includes both sections.
2. “Jingle Bells” – I do verse one ("dashing through the snow…”) and the chorus in my choreography.
3. “Rudolph” – I go through the whole song once with my choreography and include the echo words (i.e. “Like Pinocchio”) in my moves. You can take those out if you do the more traditional version.
4. “Silent Night” – I do a combination of sign language/artistic license on this song for choreography. It is more complicated, but even my kindergarteners get it with just a little coaching.
5. “Two Front Teeth” – I do the first verse and chorus on this song.
6. “Up on the Housetop” – This song is short. I just do verse one and chorus on this song, and we repeat it when we’re caroling.
7. “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” – My version does not have the “Good tidings…” section. Here are the lyrics I choreographed for:
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!

Now bring us some figgy pudding.
Now bring us some figgy pudding.
Now bring us some figgy pudding.
And bring some out here.

For we love our figgy pudding.
For we love our figgy pudding.
For we love our figgy pudding.
So bring some out here.

We won’t go until we get some.
We won’t go until we get some.
We won’t go until we get some.
So bring some out here.

We wish you a Merry Christmas!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!
