Have you ever felt overwhelmed and just needed a minute to catch your breath? Have you ever wondered how you could keep your class busy while you worked one-on-one with a student or small group? I know I have and that's why I created 7 Minute Whiteboard Videos. They are ZERO prep! No copies! No early finishers! No grading! The best part is, kids LOVE them!
These videos offer a quick, no-prep review that your students are going to love! Each student needs a whiteboard, marker, and eraser. They are a wonderful resource for in-person AND distant learning.
This set includes a variety of skills and is a great review for your first graders. Skills included are-
Scarecrow Subtraction Story Problems - This video focuses on subtraction facts to 12. The scarecrow tells us "there were ten crows. I scared six away. How many were left?" Your students write the subtraction sentence and solve before we see the scarecrow yell "BOO!" and see the subtraction in action as the crows fly away! This is so cute! Click here for the preview.
10 More at the Apple Orchard - There is a girl selling apples at the apple orchard. We see a sign that tells us how many apples she has (random two-digit numbers) and a boy comes along with a wheelbarrow and tells her there are 10 more. Your students have to write how many she has now. I love the check it on this one because it shows a hundred chart and an animation of the number just below. This whole video focuses on 10 more because it is early in the year and the repetition of focusing on 10 more every time really drills it in. The First Grade Review videos spiral skills and will build on 10 more/10 less in later bundles. Click here to see this video!
Scarecrow Hear it! Write it! Sight Words - Scarecrow is at school and writes sight words. Your students will hear sight words and write them on their boards before the words appear so they can check their spelling. Words are repeated three times. Words in this video are: was, are, come, they, have, of, how, with, look, come. Click here to see a preview!
Addition Sentences to 10 - We see two groups of objects and students write the addition sentence that tells how many in all. This is perfect for first graders early in the year. The visuals and audio add so much more than a worksheet ever could! Click here to see it!
CCvC Words - We hear words that follow CCvC spelling patterns and write them on dry erase boards before they are shown. These are great phonics practice for beginning writers. Click here to see it!
CvCC Words - We hear words that follow CvCC spelling patterns and write them on our boards before they are shown. These are great phonics practice for beginning writers. Click here to see it!
CvC Sunflowers - We see three sunflowers. Scarecrow is thinking of a CvC word. Your kids hear and see the word and write it on their boards before we see the sunflowers bloom into the letters that spell the CvC word. Click here to see it!
Pumpkin Patch Beginning Blends - Your students will write the missing beginning blend before a crow pulls a wagon out of the way revealing the word. Click here to see a preview of this video!
Falling for Missing Addends to 10 - Fall leaves are hiding addends. Can your students write the missing addends before the wind blows the leaves away revealing the missing addend? Click here to see this video!
Corncob Doubles (facts to 20) - We're planting seeds that grow stalks of corn with the same number of cobs on each stalk. Your students will write the fact then see the corn grow to check their answers. Click here to see this video!
Storing Acorns - Making 10 - "Squirrel has 10 acorns. How many are in his cheeks?" This is great practice for missing parts! The visuals are great! The number of acorns on the grass plus the number of acorns in squirrels cheeks equal 10. Your students write the addition sentence then we see squirrel spit the acorns out as the acorns are counted and the correct addition sentence is shown. Click here to see a preview!
Ordering Two-Digit Numbers - We see three two-digit numbers on leaves in a tree. Your students will put them in order from least to greatest before the wind blows them into the correct places. Click here to see a preview of this video.
