7th Grade Next Gen. Science Standards (NGSS) - Integrated Model (California)

If you're like me, learning a whole new set of science standards can be daunting. The biggest challenge is that there are several documents that contain all the relevant components that must be implemented. NGSS consists of Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCI's), Performance Expectations (PE's), Crosscutting Concepts, and Science and Engineering Practices. There was no way to quickly see all the components at a glance. That's why I created this doc. It will help you gain an initial understanding and grasp of the Next Generation Science Standards and how it all fits together. It will also be invaluable in planning, both during the transition and the full implementation of the NGSS.
