Algebra: The Basics (Foundation Level) - Complete Unit of Work

In this unit, students will be introduced to the basics of using algebra in Mathematics. They will begin by understanding the nature of algebra and the use of variables. They will learn to distinguish between expressions, equations, formulae and identities, before learning to write expressions, simplify them by collecting like terms, multiply them and cancel them. Finally they will look at how to use powers and index laws in algebra.
