Students need explicit instruction in a variety of ways with context and structure! With a solid alphabet knowledge, students will be able to move forward with a strong foundation for phonics teaching and instruction. This 7 week comprehensive Alphabet Curriculum goes from letters, to sounds to CVC words! It is complete with:

⭐ Assessments (Pre-Assessments, Mid-Assessments, Post Assessments). Students will be grouped by score for targeted centers and small group instruction.

Whole Group Lesson: Each whole group lesson for the day includes a warm up, letter introduction, sound, formation, and phonics.
Small Group Lesson: These groups are formed from your assessment scores for more targeted instruction. Students will be assessed at the beginning, middle and end of the Alphabet Curriculum.
Each small group lesson includes a warm up and provides differentiated instruction at 3 levels:
✅Intervention Group
✅Standard Group
✅Extension Group
The intervention group will start their center rotation at the Teacher Table for additional support and ensured success with the remaining center rotations.
Center Rotations: Each day students will rotate through 4 centers and the teacher table. Each center has several activity choices. You may choose one that is best for your class or put out several and let students choose.
Center 1: Letter Identification: Days a letter is introduced- Upper and Lowercase Sort, Magazine Letter Hunt. Review Days- Upper and Lowercase: Spin and Cover, Upper and Lowercase Letter Match
Center 2: Letter Formation: Days a letter is introduced- Letter Q-tip Painting, Play-Dough Letter Mats, Tangram Letter Mats, Snap-Cube Letter Mats, Letter Puzzles, ABC's Roll and Trace. Review Days- Letter Construction: Flip and Build.
Center 3: Letter Sounds: Days a letter is introduced-Beginning Sound Clip/Cover, Beginning Sounds Cut and Paste. Review days: Beginning Sound Match and Color, Beginning Sounds Bingo.
Center 4: Letter Sound Review and Application: Students that need extra practice with basic letter concepts-Repeat activities for previously introduced letters. Students ready to apply letter knowledge- Beginning Sound Match and Write, Beginning Sounds: Spin and Cover
Center 5: Teacher Table: Lesson plans for intervention, middle and extension groups are provided on each daily lesson plan.
