    Description

Make learning about ancient Greece engaging and educational with this bundle of investigation activities! Your students will try to crack the great mysteries of ancient Greece - the death of Alexander the Great, the Trojan War, and the lost city of Atlantis - through investigation case file activities that encourage historical and creative thinking. Perfect for lessons on Greece, ancient civilizations, and world history, this resource makes history come to life!

This bundle includes mystery of history activities featuring:

    • The Death of Alexander the Great: Students will investigate the mysterious early death of Alexander the Great, and learn about the beginning of the Hellenistic Age.
    • The Trojan War: While learning about Homer and the Iliad, students will explore theories behind the Trojan War and the discovery of the city of Troy.
    • The Lost City of Atlantis: Student detectives will set their sights to one of the great mysteries of world history, the lost city of Atlantis, and explore whether there is truth behind Plato's description of it.

During each activity student detectives will view artifacts, maps, primary source texts, and supporting evidence and take detective notes on what they learn. They will then answer the reading comprehension response questions, complete a timeline activity, and draw their own hypothesis based on the background information and theories in the case file! Bonus letter writing extension activities are included as well for each resource.

These investigation activities can be used as printable packet activities, or as engaging stations classroom activities with groups! Teacher and student notes are provided, along with answer keys for the background reading comprehension activities.

These activities are provided in both ready-to-print color and black and white versions.

This bundle makes learning about ancient Greece highly engaging. These mystery of history activities are great supplements, introductions, or reinforcements for any lesson!
