What educators are saying

My students have always had a hard time with area and especially area of irregular shapes. This resource was SO helpful in reinforcing those skills!
I used this for extra practice. The curriculum we use is very limited, only one lesson per skill. So, this is perfect.

Description

This Area: 3.MD pack includes 64 pages of thoughtfully designed worksheets to help teach and reinforce concepts of area measurement in 3rd grade. Printables are included for every 3rd grade area standard, including 3.MD.5, 3.MD.6, and 3.MD.7a through 3.MD.7d.

This pack is the newest component in my "Math Every Which Way" series, providing resources that present third grade math concepts in a wide variety of ways to allow for differentiation, promote student engagement, and foster depth of learning.

This resource gives students experience with

• unit squares

• tiling

• multiplying to determine area

• solving "real-world" area problems

• measuring figures with rulers to determine area

• area & the distributive property, and

• decomposing rectilinear figures to determine area.

Fun, blackline “All About Area” cover pages are included, should you choose to make student packets.
