Back to School Activities and Games Ice Breaker Activities Team Building

These Back to School activities are packed with ice breakers, team building games, goal setting, and bucket filler activity to establish a fun first week of school!

ICE BREAKER ACTIVITIES:

-Heads or Tails: students work in pairs to flip a coin and answer the heads or tails question cards to get to know their friends (NOW INCLUDES A PICTURE VERSION)

-Trade Places: students line up on opposite sides of a piece of tape and move over the tape if they answer yes to the getting to know you question cards

-Guess Who: students record 3 characteristics about themselves on a Guess Who card, trade cards with their friends, and walk around the room to find their match (NOW INCLUDES A PICTURE VERSION)

-The Colors of Me: students pass a bowl of colored candy or colored pompoms around the classroom and complete the sentences on the rainbow craft that correspond with the color candy or pompom

-Making Friends: students complete a Scavenger Hunt to find friends that can answer the question in the boxes (NOW INCLUDES PICTURE VERSION)

TEAM BUILDING GAMES:

-Shape Maker: students work in groups to draw as many shapes as they can using only string to control the marker while drawing

-Bucket Filler: students work in teams to launch all their pompom balls into the bucket before the other teams

CHARACTER BUILDING:

-Swish! That's My Goal: students play Trashketball to tell their school year goal and write about their goal on a basketball goal craftivity (WRITING BOX AND LINED VERSIONS INCLUDED)

-Team Building: students reflect on ways that they have showed characteristics of a team player and write about ways to be a team player (LINED AND BLANK VERSIONS INCLUDED)
