Beginning Sound Sort

This extensive resource includes all letters of the English alphabet along with 5 objects per letter that match that letter's beginning sound. Short vowel sounds were used for a, e, i, o, u and /x/ is represented as a final sound in words such as box, fox, etc. There are 130 picture object cards in total, and have been updated to have transparent backgrounds to save on ink!

This resource is Montessori aligned, using all real photographs instead of clipart.

This resource is great for early literacy, matching words that have the same initial phoneme without the need for your child/student to know their letter symbols, and once they do know their letter symbols they can begin to match pictures to their letter as well.

This resource has been updated to now include 5 object pictures per letter sound. Letter flashcards are also now in two additional color ways: red vowels with blue consonants, and blue vowels with red consonants, in addition to the all black set already included.
