What educators are saying

This is wonderful guidance to do many different dissections. I have only done the one about fetal pigs but it was thorough and informative.
I use the dissections in my Zoology classes. The dissections have clear directions and the follow up questions review what they learned. I highly recommend these labs!

    Description

This dissection bundle includes lab instructions and materials lists, student worksheets with full-color diagrams and pictures, and discussion questions for greater comprehension of vertebrate anatomy and physiology. These dissections make a great addition to your biology lesson plans.

Save yourself nearly 20% by purchasing this bundle rather than each dissection lab separately. That's like getting one dissection FREE!!

This product includes 4 of my best-selling dissections:

    1. Earthworm Dissection- This dissection guide includes directions for the identification of both internal and external structures of the earthworm as well as discussion questions that can be answered using the internet or any high school biology book.

    • External anatomy- introduction to anatomical terms, clitellum, setae
    • Internal anatomy- digestive system, reproductive system, circulatory system, nervous system

    Length: 1 class period

    2. Crayfish Dissection- The lab worksheets provide a great introduction to animal anatomy and physiology through detailed pictures and full-color diagrams. Students will learn a great deal about the behavior and structures of a crayfish.

    • External anatomy- exoskeleton, location & function of all appendages
    • Internal anatomy- respiratory system, circulatory system, digestive system, excretory system, nervous system

    Length: 1 class period

    3. Frog Dissection- This lab is specially designed to be completed in two class sessions. The first part includes external anatomy, which allows teachers to keep the frogs intact for the next class. In the second part of the laboratory, students explore the internal anatomy of the frog.

    • External anatomy- body regions, appendages, sensory organs, structures of the mouth
    • Internal anatomy- digestive system, circulatory system, respiratory system, lymphatic system, excretory system, muscular system

    Length: 2 class periods

    4. Fetal Pig Dissection- This highly visual and engaging fetal pig dissection gives your class a glimpse into the basic internal organs and body systems.

    • External anatomy- appendages, sensory organs, genitalia
    • Internal anatomy- endocrine system, digestive system, reproductive system, circulatory system, respiratory system, excretory system

    Length: 2 class periods

    Included in each dissection:

    - A set of step-by-step dissection procedures for a student-led dissection

-A student worksheet for completion during work. Student worksheets contain provocative questions about anatomy, physiology, and application of concepts.

-Clear, colorful anatomical diagrams for students to label and complete as they are dissecting the specimen.

-A video demonstration available to students and teachers through an exclusive YouTube link. (Great for absent students!)

-A complete answer key for teachers for every section.

These are a basic introduction to anatomy for general Biology classes. It is not meant to be a comprehensive or exhaustive exploration of anatomy and physiology. Please check the preview carefully to make sure it fits your curriculum.
