Birds Inquiry Mini Unit- Kindergarten Primary Science

This Birds Mini Unit is perfect for a class inquiry, focusing on investigating and researching different type of birds. It is ideal for Kindergarten to grade 3. Here is a brief overview of what you will find in this Birds Mini Unit;

1.Bird names/vocabulary cards: Includes 17 types of bird vocabulary cards with colored pictures.

2.Types of Birds Index Card: A one page visual of 16 birds and their names. (comes in color and B & W)

3. Parts of a Bird Activity Sheets: This includes 2 worksheets; 1) Label the parts of a bird (print the words on the lines) 2) Cut and paste the parts of a bird

4. My Bird Investigation Template: This template is great for an inquiry or independent research activity. Students choose a bird, draw a picture of it, and record 2 facts they learned about their bird of choice. 2 versions are included (regular lines and primary lines)

5. ‘My Book of Birds’ Mini Booklet: This booklet was designed to be used with the Fact Sheets and Index Cards provided in this resource. Each page has a picture of a different bird from the fact sheets. Students draw a picture, label the bird and then chose one fact to write on each page of the booklet.

6. Bird Fact Sheets: This resource includes 9 simple and easy to use fact sheets. Wording and content have been simplified so grades K-2 can easily pull facts for their research. These sheets can be used independently, in small groups, or during whole group instruction by the teacher.
