Can you build... Construction stimulus cards
- PDF
Description
These cards can be cut and backed up with coloured paper and laminated to ensure durability and a long-lasting resource for the construction area or experiences.
I have re-used these cards for children who find difficulty in the construction area- needing inspiration while also being exposed to diverse buildings and housing structures from around the world.
Experience ideas:
- Match cards with wooden blocks and a 'cement' mixture containing sand and shaving foam.
- Use lego/blocks and fill paper cups with them. Challenge children to build by only using the resources in one cup. "What can you build with one cup of legos?"
- Add to construction area as a stimulus.
- Initiate discussions and compare the diverse structures from around the world- linking them to diversity.
- Incorporating social issues such as poverty.
