In this product students will research the:
1. Reasons why each province and territory joined Confederation
2. Date each joined Confederation
3. Important People involved in the decision to join Confederation
4. Shape of each province or territory prior to confederation.
This resource includes pdfs that are printable. The majority of pages are also suitable for distance learning and can be used with Google Classroom through TPT's Digital Activities. In my opinion, the timeline is best used when printed. Please note that this is a digital activity using TPT's Digital Activity Tool - this is not the same as being made for Google, Google Forms or Google Slides. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing.
Students will complete:
1. Research and Pennant with facts (reasons, date, people, shape prior to Confederation)
**Note that you will need to provide research materials for students. They are NOT included. The website referenced in the comments is no longer functional.**
2. A Presentation (I have students tell about what they learn and place their pennant under the document camera. No worksheet provided for this)
3. Listening and Recording Sheet (If you choose to have students present thier research, then students listening to the presentation can fill in information on each province and territory. I like using the sheet as it keeps students who are listening accountable while other students are presenting)
4. Time line showing each Province and Territory’s Confederation date.
5. Worksheet that requires students use the timeline they constructed.
What is Included:
-1 Pennant for each of Canada’s Provinces and Territories. You may wish to blow up the pennant on the photocopier.
-1 Listening and Recording Sheet for use when students to present their pennants to the class.
-1 timeline -students use the information during presentations to complete the timeline.
-1 pocket to glue into notebooks. Add glue to bottom and sides and place onto a notebork page. The timeline can be slid into the pocket once the glue is dry
-1 worksheet asking students to interpret the timeline they created.
- Suggested Answers for the pennants (does not include maps) and Listening and Recording sheet. As well there is an answer key for the time line and the worksheet.
