What educators are saying

Our students are required to complete a senior project and this activity fits the requirement perfectly.
My students loved using this resource as a way to present the information they researched about different careers. It was a great creative option for students who prefer to not write an essay.

Description

Use the enclosed Publisher template and have your students research a career/occupation and then create a trifold brochure. Maybe afterward, print their masterpieces and share their work in class.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook at the US Labor Department's website, bls.gov, is the perfect resource to collect the necessary data to complete this project. https://www.bls.gov/ooh/arts-and-design/art-directors.htm

Below are the headings the students should research at bls.gov

  • What they Do
  • Work Environment
  • How to Become One
  • Pay
  • Job Outlook

By the way, this has been a very popular unit for my students in the past. I think yours will jump on board with it, too.

Remember, you customize it to your likings. Good luck as you endeavor to empower your students with this research and desktop publishing activity.
