Teach your students about the brutal labor and class structures that existed in New Spain during the Age of Exploration.
Included in this resource are short one-page readings for the Casta System and the Encomienda System AND two graphic organizers to accompany those readings. This activity can be done digitally or physically. These graphic organizers are a scaffolding tool to help students understand both systems and not only how they were created, but the impact it had on the indigenous and African populations in territory colonized by the Spanish.
