What educators are saying

I was surprised that my students had not thought about control facets of their life. I come back to the handouts often with each student and use the information they write in their circles of control to help guide the discussions.
I used this in my AVID elective class and it was a great start-of-the-year activity. My students took this seriously and most of them turned out like the models. I was impressed by how much they enjoyed working on this!

The Circle of Control craft is also a way to guide students through feelings of anger.

When feelings of anger become overwhelming, students can use the Circle to practice "letting go" of things they cannot control and help them find moments of mindfulness.

Once students learn to refocus on things that they can control, they will feel more self-control. The focus of this project is to develop a positive mindset about life and to learn to let go of things that are not worth worrying over.

How to Use the Circle of Control

This Social-Emotional Learning craft can be used in-the-moment when an individual student feels out of control or with the whole class as a proactive planned activity.

Printable quote posters (included in purchase) can be placed throughout the classroom and referenced when students need a moment of mindfulness or as an aid to assist students in understanding the deeper meaning of the Circle of Control.
