Description

Motivate your students to practice comparing and ordering whole numbers with these self-checking place value to hundred thousands task cards. These Comparing and Ordering Numbers 'Clip and Flip' Task Cards make practicing this place value skill enjoyable for even the most reluctant learners. While using these place value task cards, students will practice comparing and ordering whole numbers to hundred thousands. These comparing numbers task cards are perfect for math centers, early finishers, small group work, test prep review, intervention, and more!

These place value task cards are self-checking! Each card contains a question about comparing and ordering whole numbers. Students answer the question and clip the answer on the card with a clothespin or paperclip. Then, students flip over the card to see if they clipped the correct answer.

This activity was designed to support the 4th grade math standard:

Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.

Included with these Comparing and Ordering Numbers 'Clip and Flip' Cards:

  • Instructions for single-player and multi-player use
  • 80 'Clip and Flip' cards:
    • 16 cards - Determining which number (4-digit, 5-digit, and 6-digit) is the greatest
    • 16 cards - Determining which number (4-digit, 5-digit, and 6-digit) is the least
    • 16 cards - Determining which numbers are greater than a given number
    • 16 cards - Determining which numbers are less than a given number
    • 16 cards - Comparing two whole numbers using the symbols <, >, and =
