Description
As a first-year seventh grade Social Studies teacher you would like to think of how interesting and engaging you can make your lesson plans. Some first-year teachers are greeted with hundreds of resources from previous teachers or co-teachers. Unfortunately, that is not the case for all first-year teachers. Because of the lack of resources for these teachers, they drown in the work creating lessons, charts, PowerPoints, and ActiveInspires and hardly have time to think of engaging activities for their class. I was not one of these teachers but it fell upon my hands to help out my co-teachers. By giving them this material they were allowed time to leave feedback to their students in class and create their own methods. Some even went as far as to modify these presentations and make them their own. While the price is up there, (I do apologize)" I did put a lot of work into these lessons which should cover about 1 - 1 1/2 months' time with is normal for a 7th Grade United States History class unit. The Units are aligned to a Scope and Sequence and to Common Core and normal State Standards.
This first Unit covers everything from the Early Colonial Period all the way to the American Revolution. The answers to the graphic organizers can be found in primary documents so students can analyze and understand different viewpoints as our young country grows and changes. I will upload more Units (6 in total) so I hope these help you in allocating where your time is to be spent in the classroom. Never lose faith in the profession.
Eventually, I plan on uploading my assignments that coincide with each section of these units. Hopefully another time saver for my teachers. (They will simply be a Google Classroom Post with a bellringer, link in the description to the documents, questions, and review questions with an overall question.)
