Compose a song! Back to School theme

This interactive whiteboard activity is great for very young students in music class who are learning about steady beat, rhythm, or composition. Students will work together to compose an original song/chant through an easy drag'n'drop game. Students simply take turns dragging school supply pictures into the boxes, then say or play the rhythm of the items. This activity uses only pictures, making it easy for ELLs and primary students who can't read yet. There is also a built-in mp3 file of a drum kit playing at 80 bpm so your students can practice performing with a steady beat. Requiring no preparation and minimal teacher guidance, it is also a great time-filler if you just have a few minutes left of music class.
