What educators are saying

We used these worksheets for a mini-course on Media Literacy. They were a great tool for grounding the conversation and keeping students engaged.
This is an amazing bundle that I use in my 21st Century Learning class. Students complete a video each Wednesday and it provides a good way to have discussions about the several topics.

    Description

    Distance Learning - #DistanceLearning

Episode Guides for highly influential and relevant Crash Course Navigating Digital Information YouTube Series!

A "must see" series for every student who is on the internet.

Applicable with "real life" solutions for problems that our students are facing every single day.

This series has quickly been added to the top of my "Must Squeeze in Somewhere" lesson plans for the year because it is so completely applicable to my students' lives. This is something that they NEED to see and understand to be literate, intelligent, and capable digital global citizens.

Not only does this series discuss the issues students are encountering on the internet, but it gives them practical real life solutions that they can begin to apply today, and continue to use for the rest of their lives.

Each guide comes with two versions (with and without timestamps), and a complete answer key.

This product easy to use, no-prep product is a perfect last minute lesson plan, review activity, extra "filler" to keep on hand, substitute lesson plan, or homework assignment.

Plus it's only $0.80 per episode!

-Answer key included for every episode guide

-Questions are a variety of formats and vary within each episode guide:

    -Short Answer

    -Fill in the blank

    -Multiple choice

    -True/False

-Pacing within the episode is about 1 question every minute.

-Sometimes my students struggle to catch all of the questions as these videos present a great deal of information very quickly. This may not be as much of an issue with older students. To combat this issue though consider …..

-Cut down the questions. Have them answer only odds, only evens, or have them skip specific ones that don’t align with your learning goals for the day.

-Watch the video twice. This allows students to catch more of the information and fill in any questions that they missed.

What is Crash Course Navigating Digital Information?

Crash Course Navigating Digital Information is a YouTube series that is a fast paced, informative, course that will give students the tools that they need to navigate the internet as a reflective and intelligent digital global citizen.

Hosted by author John Green, this relevant series talks about our role on the internet, and how it is every person's responsibility to fact check what they are reading, and to work to stop the spread of misinformation. Green not only discusses the issues that are evolving on the internet today, such as false and misleading information, propaganda, and click bait, but also gives students resources that they can use to navigate the internet safely and intelligently for the rest of their lives.

Though the episodes are dense with facts and information, Green teaches in a way that is very accessible to all learners, while still succeeding in making it fun, light-hearted, and relevant for students. A link to the episodes is provided in this product.

These 15 minute episodes make an excellent filler for your class period, and are something that you can squeeze in at any point during the year.

Or, use the guide as a spring board for a class discussion and/or hands on lesson that can easily fill an entire class period or more.

This product is print and go, making it easy to use even at the last minute.
