What educators are saying

My students enjoyed working in groups to create food chains and a food web for their given biome. After the created food chains and a food web with the pictures, I had students code iRoot robots to create the food web.
This resource provided a helpful reinforcement for my students. I appreciated the different activities included- creating the energy pyramid and different food chains. It helped me to see which students were still struggling with these concepts so that I could pull them to reteach.

Description

Want an interactive activity to practice or assess your students understanding of Food Chains, Webs and Energy Pyramids? This activity is it!

Students are given pictures of animals for 5 different habitats or biomes (tundra, ocean, forest, rainforest and desert). They cut out the organisms and use the pictures to make food chains. Then students draw in LOTS of arrows to show all the feeding relationships in the ecosystem.

AND...OPTIONAL: Have students use the food web to fill in the energy pyramid.

You can have the whole class do each biome, or separate the class into groups then have them share! So many options depending on the level of your students!
