Description
Do you use Creative Curriculum’s Teaching Strategies Gold in your classroom? After using it for the past 10 years, I have found each year, as I approached a new curriculum, I was scrambling to come up with the materials I would need for each unit. With this set, you won’t have to! Utilizing this set in your classroom, you will have all of the materials necessary to create an Anchor Chart reflecting the “Clothes” unit. This downloadable set includes the TSG Anchor Chart topics of:
- What do we know about clothes? What do we want to find out?
- What are the features of clothes?
- How do we take care of our clothes?
- How do people make clothes?
- How is cloth made?
- Where do we get our clothes?
- What special clothes do people wear for work?
Each topic features child-friendly picture cards to correspond with each topic, prompting active teacher-student discussion and interaction. Exploring each topic, students can share what they know about Clothes in a way that makes sense to them, with topic questions and visual aids that are targeted towards young visual learners. This set has included both quality clip art, as well as real photographs to enhance student learning.
To best use this set, print, laminate, and cut. I prefer to add a small magnet piece to the back of each item, so that I can use it with my students on our white board. The pictures used in this set are surrounded by a black square, and are the perfect size for young children to utilize themselves, with guidance. While this set is designed around the TSG curriculum, the opportunities for use are endless!
In addition, this set includes:
- 2 versions of Questions of the Day - one set with text only, one set with visual supports
- ideas to celebrate learning: activities and games for students to do either in the classroom, or to be sent home
- a letter home to families, inviting them to participate in activities and gathering materials
- "When I Grow Up" writing templates
- Sorting and Labeling activities for Clothes based on colors and features.
- kid templates for designing clothes
- Goldilocks and the 3 Bears puppets
- "Add buttons to the shirt" paperclip math game
- Seasonal clothes sorting game
- Clothes-themed letter match mats
