Critical Action Project - United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Diving into the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, students are asked to choose a topic that requires immediate attention with the focus on changing the course of history through action – addressing how history would be different if your issue/challenge/topic were not addressed, and action not taken. Under the Sustainable Development goals, students are to research a topic that they are passionate about in solving a "real world issue."

Within this project students will develop a statement of purpose, research historical background and present a proposal to a "fake" panel of investors with the hopes of securing funding to change the course of history in addressing a UN Sustainable Development Goal.

This project includes a project description, rubric and notes sheet to be completed while listening to their classmates proposals.

A number of my students have gone on to bring their projects to life, after building their proposals and realizing that they (as students) can make differences in their communities.
