This package contains 26 Kindergarten alphabet "Poems of the Week" for emergent readers and for shared reading.
Each poem comes in two versions: one with a focus on a "letter of the week," and another which focuses on a "word family" or "blend" of the week.
All poems contain rhymes as well as high-frequency words (sight words) to promote early reading skills.
The word families covered in this resource are:
-ab, -at, -ed, -en, -ay, -ug, -it, -ack, -am, -an, -ap, -un, -ig, -et, -ub, -all, -ox, -ip, -ad
The blends/digraphs covered in this resource are:

Each poem also contains instructions for students to search and focus on common sight words / high frequency words within the text.
This PDF is ideal to be broken up and posted on Google Classroom or other online learning platforms during the Covid-19 / Coronavirus school closures.
