Description

This Daily Grammar activity requires students to identify and review the conventions of writing and grammar and reinforces the Science of Reading. It is a great tool to help your students with literacy development. Differentiation for students is easy, by using different levels of poems or stories. In this daily activity the students use symbols and color to emphasis the conventions in a piece of writing. For example; in the word ‘chocolate’ the ch is read as a ch sound (like the sound of a train) not as separate letters c h. Over the ch they would draw the symbol of a train, short & long vowel symbol, arrow to show bossy e and loops underneath to show syllables.

Can be used individually or in a group with a student as the teacher.

Included in package:

•detailed description of how to teach the grammar search symbols

•poster pages that display all the conventions, symbols, and colors

•example of a finished grammar search sheet

•21 pieces of writing to use for grammar search
