Description
There are THREE great activities in this bundle:
1. This is a fun activity that has students research a deceased famous person from the Spanish-speaking world. They then create an art piece and write a short paragraph about them practicing ser and estar. It is created for a Spanish 1 class, but you can modify it for higher levels (i.e. writing in the preterite for Spanish 2). I also created a decently large list of famous people, but feel free to add any I didn't include!
2. Since most Día de los Muertos activities center on calaveras, I made another activity that centered on another Mexican art form - alebrijes. This is a great activity for students to learn about and create their own alebrije, a traditional Mexican art form. It also goes great with the Disney movie, Coco. Note: the reading is in Spanish (made for Spanish 1 class).
3. This fun art activity is a favorite in my Spanish class because I combine 2 favorites: Día de los Muertos and Lotería, one of Mexico's favorite games. Students create their own Lotería card based on Día de los Muertos and also create their own ofrenda!
