This back to school math resource contains 10 differentiated math tasks/problems. Each math task or problem is presented in a word problem/story problem context.

About the Differentiated Math Tasks

*The tasks are all back-to-school themed. Topics include buying school supplies, making a class schedule, buying school lunch and more.

*Many of the tasks contain multiple steps and/or tables to organize the information presented.

*Each math task contains two levels to help you differentiate.

• Level 1: This level is the simpler level. This level contains simpler numbers or easier operations (adding and subtracting decimals versus multiplying them) This level would work best for 4th- and 5th grade students at the beginning of the year.

• Level 2: This is the more advanced level. These tasks include larger numbers, more advanced decimal operations, different denominators, etc. These are better suited for 5th-6th grade students at the beginning of the year.

*A table of contents is provided with a list of the skills for each printable. Answer keys are also included. Check out the preview for an example task and to see the table of contents of skills.
