This is my FAVORITE topic to teach! Students love the relevance and the fun activities. It is an extremely necessary unit for all students.
This interactive notebook uses Google Slides to cover the topics above.

- Define phishing, scams, identity theft, clickjacking
- Identify the features of a phishing scam
- Create a phishing scam and identify its features
- Demonstrate how to react when faced with phishing scams
- Create and identify safe usernames
- Create and identify strong, safe passwords
- Identify problems with easy passwords and password sharing
- Identify unsafe online chatting scenarios and how to react
Cyberbullying
I will be able to...
- Define cyber bullying, upstander, bystander, empathy
- Reflect on what it means to be brave and stand up for others online and offline
- Create a story demonstrating the point of view of the bully, victim, bystanders, and upstanders
- Learn to show empathy for those who have been cyber bullied AND those who are bullies
- Generate multiple solutions for helping others when cyber bullying occurs
Update October 2017:
One activity used Google Story Builder, which unfortunately no longer exists. I replaced this activity with a similar one using BUNCEE! Which works along with Google and the students were so engaged with this exciting web resource!
