What educators are saying

My students had a great time reading this script! Nice to have a different way to approach a piece of literature...and make it memorable!
This was so fun for my students. After reading more traditional texts, my students enjoyed a different format. I also really liked the information provided to go along with the reader's theater.

Description

Is he a noble champion of knightly values or a demented old man? The aged knight Don Quixote is both hilarious and heartbreaking, and his refusal to see the world as it really is can be both inspiring and frightening. His misadventures have become immortal. Ultimately, the story grapples with the question: Which is better: illusion or reality? Fascinating readers for generations, Miguel de Cervantes's Don Quixote has been called the first novel.

This Reader's Theater script-story dramatizes some of Don Quixote's more famous adventures, giving the reader a flavor of the original work. Included are the episodes of Don Quixote's departure from his home village, his love of Dulcinea, his knighting ceremony, the recruitment of his squire, Sancho Panza, and his famous battle against windmill "giants."
