What educators are saying

This resource is great to help learners who are first introduced to subtraction with regrouping. The boxes and line down the centre really help the !students to place the numbers correctly! Exactly what I was looking for!
A great resource for my students learning 2-digit addition and subtraction. I loved how the problems were separated with boxes and there are regrouping boxes also. It has a clean layout, making it easy for my students to follow along.

Description

Created for elementary age students, this is 4 pages of 2-digit addition and subtraction problems set up in a grid with boxes for "regrouping"/"carrying"/"borrowing." The grid format helps students keep their columns lined up, and the boxes will aid them in remembering to "carry" or "borrow" tens. SOME problems do not require regrouping in order to keep students on their toes about the process of decided whether to regroup!

I've also included a blank template for both addition and subtraction so that you can make more practice worksheets for your students using the same format!

Use this for homework, as a teaching aid, or as an in-class assessment for students.

Updated to include answer keys! :)

Updated 12/2019 to include blank templates :)

Updated 2/2021 to include Google Slides versions for remote learning and updated clipart :)
