What educators are saying

I used these before testing to remind my students how much they have learned. I wanted them to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments heading into the last few weeks of school.
My students don't know that they will be getting these awards yet. I will present them later this week. However, they suspect that I'm up to something.

Description

CCSS-aligned awards for Language Arts middle school and high school students are great as end of the year awards - or any time you're looking to provide recognition and incentive! 60 ready-made and 49 blank and customizable award certificates. These awards are standards based with each award including the number of the standard. Recognize your students' hard work and effort throughout the school year with this colorful, positive set of 60 different awards. Packet also includes 49 editable, fully customizable, pre-made certificates - saved as PDF and PPTX, so you can hand write or type on your computer. (You can type the specifics on PowerPoint or simply print them from the PDF file and hand write the information.) Whatever works best for you!

Awards for writing, informational reading, literary reading, speaking and listening, language conventions, plus miscellaneous (e.g., critical thinking), saved by category in separate folders for ease of use. CCSS ELA RL, RI, W, SL, L. High School English and Middle School English awards.

Regularly or randomly rewarding your students in your own classroom helps create an inspiring classroom environment. You can also use these for more school-wide awards programs as well. I have found it particularly beneficial and motivating to students to take five minutes every couple of weeks to announce these. That five-minute chunk is a huge investment in students individually, as well as in creating a positive and nurturing class culture. Students see exactly what their accomplishment is written on the certificate for genuine, specific praise. I usually then hang them on the wall for display, until the next set is given.

Regardless of your students' ages, being recognized by you is a powerful motivator and usually is quite meaningful to your students and their families. Purchase once, re-use for years!
