Description

This 5E uses Kill-A-Watt meters and various appliances.

Lab data takes 45-60 minutes. Questions and graphing take another 60 minutes. More math and analysis is provided for further extension.

Students find this lab VERY engaging as they discover what uses a lot of electricity. Pictures of this lab and hints can be found here: https://teachingapscience.com/electricity-lab-using-kill-watt-meters/

This is a great lab for physics, AP physics, AP Environmental Science, Environmental Science, and physical science.

You need to change several items on the lab for your individual use: The price of electricity, the appliances that you will bring to lab, and directions for the type of Kill-A-Watt meters you purchase.
