How can you use the play dough mats in your classroom?

• Use the emotion mats, vocabulary cards, and play dough in independent centers.
• Print two sets of emotion mats and team kids up in pairs for a fun game! The first child chooses one facial part (eyes, eyebrows, etc.) and makes it out of play dough. The second child replicates that facial part. Then the second child chooses the next facial part and the first child replicates. Take turns until the complete face is made.
• Work in small groups to complete the interactive journal pages
• Print, laminate, and cut apart two sets of vocabulary cards to make a quick matching game for center time.
• Send home a zippered bag filled with a couple of emotion mats, the matching vocabulary cards, and a supply of play dough (hey, parents like to play with play dough, too!) Great for a home-school connection!
