End of Year Summer Crime Scene Investigation: nature of science SEP

Explore the nature of science with this end of the year CSI mystery investigation for grades 4–6. Students examine evidence using careful observations to determine who is responsible for playing a prank at summer camp. Students act like scientists as they rotate in groups through 5 stations to gather evidence as well as examine suspect bio cards.

Includes:

· Case introduction card

· 2 leveled versions of data evidence collection sheets

Materials Needed:

· 5–9x12 manilla envelopes

· 2 pages total need to be printed in color

· A small amount of vanilla extract, cotton ball, and zip lock bag
