Escape room style activity for STAAR review

This activity is a puzzle based, escape room style challenge activity where students receive clues, answer questions from released STAAR tests, get hints, and try to beat the clock to escape an alien ship.

I used a paired text from the 2017 5th grade released reading STAAR, it would be easy to simply delete the questions and have them complete questions from another grade level or even another subject.

They basically get a puzzle, then must answer 3 STAAR questions before you give them a hint (tells them how to read the code) .

If they solve all 4 puzzles by answering the STAAR questions before the 60 min time limit they have successfully escaped the ship.
