Factoring a GCF (Greatest Common Factor) I Have, Who Has Cards

These are cards to review how to find greatest common factor from a polynomial expression. I have the starting card and then give a card to each student. There are 30 cards total. I show the first card and ask who has it's GCF. Whoever has it then asks who has theirs, and so on. It's a good activity that keeps their attention.

It is helpful to have an extra set of cards and display them on the overhead/document camera so the students have a visual to know which card we are on.

Another option is to have the students work with partners or small groups to line up the cards up so that the greatest common factor on the bottom of the card matches the polynomial on the top of the next card.

I have done the activity both ways and it's worked well!
