What educators are saying

My students were cackling at this script! We thoroughly enjoyed going through it, understanding and practicing our lines. We have yet to perform it, however, my students are excited to perform it as they have connected with the material. Thanks so much!

The War of the Vegetables is a short fairy tale style play script for young performers. It's a gentle comedy about racism, bullying and living in harmony with others. When the Peas and Tomatoes are accidentally planted in the same vegetable patch, they fight for space. But when the nasty bullying Runner Beans arrive, the Peas and Tomatoes work together against a common enemy.

The Narrators in this play speak in rhyming verse, so it's great for literacy learning. The script also offers opportunities for shy students to perform in non-speaking roles.

This script includes fabulous full production notes, with ideas for staging, props and furniture, lighting, sound effects, any music and costumes. It also contains great follow-on activities covering story, characters, theme, script layout and performance-related tasks for further work in the classroom or drama studio.

If you are giving a performance of this musical to an audience, regardless of whether you charge admission or not, you must purchase the appropriate Performance Rights License, available in this store.
