What educators are saying

This was so much fun! The students enjoyed this. It was a bit harder to do with my extremely small class, but it was easily adaptable to be able to do it anyway.
Excellent resource! Used with my 9th grade world history students and it gave them a much better understanding of feudalism.

Description

Students will conduct an in-class simulation that mirrors the organization and responsibilities of medieval society. Pupils will assume the roles of lords, knights, and serfs, and be required to perform certain tasks that highlight the societal expectations of these classes. Privileges, rewards, and restrictions granted during the simulation will mimic feudal life and reveal the inequalities inherent in manorialism. Total class time needed is one period.

Materials Needed:

1) You will need 20-30 sheets of blank white paper per class

2) Plan to distribute about 3 pieces of candy per student
