Sentence context is key for teaching students how to identify the meaning of figurative language. These BOOM CARDS™ activities help students understand what idioms, metaphors, similes, and hyperboles are, then provide tons of practice for the skill!

Since it's not practical to teach all figurative language expressions, we must teach students the strategy of utilizing context clues to determine the meaning of idioms, metaphors, similes, and hyperboles.
