What educators are saying

I loved the switch up from a typical activity students expect on a first day to a math version of the same activity. The problems were well levelled and got students talking. Thanks for a great resource!
I used this as an ice breaker on the first day of school. I stood back and watched and was able to gather a lot of information about my students - the loners, the leaders, etc. I will put this in my rotation of 1st day ice breakers that I use. Overall, I love it!!

Description

Looking for an engaging SEL/get to know you activity for the first day of school in Algebra class? Here it is! Students will walk around the room and find other students to fill in their nine squares. Two versions are included in this set: one with nine math problems and one with nine personal questions with follow up questions - for example, "Find someone who has a dog" and "What is the dog's name?" The math problems are topics that students should know when entering an algebra course.
