Flowers For Algernon Mock Trial

Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss are on trial for manslaughter! In this activity, students will use the graphic organizers to prep and carry out a mock trial in class with prosecutors, defense attorneys, witness with character analysis, and a judge (teacher). Activity asks students to gather evidence and create an analysis of the text. Students will make claims and rebuttals during conversation. Great for discourse in the classroom! The product includes a rubric! When teaching, I usually give the students 2 days for this activity. One day to prep and fill out their organizers, and the second day to jigsaw and carry out the trial! I used this for an observation, and it went great! Students always love this one!
