    Discussion Questions:

    This PDF file includes text and skill-specific questions for each of the four chapters in For Every One by Jason Reynolds. With 18 questions in all, this document can be paired with the text or the author's live performance on Youtube to facilitate classroom discussion or to have students practice written response.

    Figurative Language Analysis:

    This resource includes a figurative language analysis of For Every One by Jason Reynolds, as well as discussion questions to facilitate academic conversation about the meaning of the text. Included in this Google Slideshow:

    • Title slide and assignment instructions
    • A completed example of figurative language analysis
    • Four examples (one from each chapter) of figurative language with guiding questions for analysis
    • A space for students to choose their own example of figurative language to analyze
